HARRY POTTER BOOKS
On the Salt Shakers site you can find A Christian response to the Harry Potter books and films. We must remember it is NOT a mere story of good verses evil with good triumphing. It is “bad” witches and wizards battling with “good” witches and wizards with the so called “good” witchcraft triumphing. There is NO SUCH THING as good witchcraft. At the end of the day witchcraft is presented as good because it beat a “more evil” witchcraft. Should we play with the toys the devil makes available?
Please read these verses from the Bible and consider Jehovah’s (God) view of witchcraft:
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 1Sa 15:23
And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. 2Ch 33:6
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:19-21
